My wife had to have a heart procedure done. We chose to have it done at UCT Academic Hospital due to recommendation of her cardiologist. Bonitas would not cover this hospital and we had to use a hospital that was contracted in to Bonitas. The final bill from Rondebosch Medical Centre was much more than UCT Academic. Sadly the post op care was so bad that my wife developed blood clots. More than a month later and she is still suffering. Copayments are means of manipulation and *******ion.
