Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Treatment not covered

Good day,<br> <br> I am finding this very hard to believe and quite frankly very pathetic that a medical aid does not cover cancer treatment. Period!<br> <br> Is that not why we have medical aid cover - why we pay month in and month out for cover that we could possibly need. It is for cover when we need it most - like when diagnosed with some horrible disease - in this case Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (or CML as some would call it). <br> <br> My uncle pays R4500 for him and his wife per month for cover. The brochure states that it covers R 280k for cancer treatment. But for some reason now they have decided not to cover. Apparently the treatement will cost like R 15k per month. Now - looking at R280k over 1 year it is R 23k per month. Whats so impossible. COVER it. As far as I know, Leukemia is Cancer. Cancer treatment is covered. It is easy math.<br> <br> I cannot believe that a medical aid can do this to a family. It is eating my uncle alive. They cause the cancer early - so with treatment it can go into remission. But since you dont want to cover it, you have signed his death certificate. His death will be on your hands!<br> <br> I am utterly disgusted by this!!!
