Bonitas Terrible Service

<p>Hi</p> <p>on 23/02/2017 Bonitas informed me via email that they would be changing their Diabetic patients from the CDE programmed to the Diabetes Care Plan. On subsequent emails from them regarding this they convey the message that everything that was covered on the CDE programme would be covered on the new one as well. The programmed was implemented in MAY 2017 and only today did I get a call from them regarding this. </p> <p>I was completely shocked when I was informed that my diabetic visits ( twice yearly to physician, yearly ophthalmologist, podiatrist and dietician) would be coming out of my DAY TO DAY benefits! I was even told that the Patients on a hospital plan option would benefit from this as they would be covered for the visits. The lady said this information was conveyed to the members but I have looked through my email three times now and in none of the emails received regarding this was I ever informed that it would come out of my day to day benefits. On the CDE programme the benefits for diabetes did not deplete day to day benefits. What makes me even more angry is that I am paying R3000 a month for this medical aid and someone who is only on a hospital plan option gets covered by the diabetes care plan while I will have to pay out of my pocket because it will deplete my benefits. </p> <p>It is extremely irresponsible for Bonitas to not have CLEARLY communicated such drastic changes to its affected member timeously. I would certainly have changed to another medical aid ASAP had I been aware.</p> <p>Yet again the poor service from Bonitas is unacceptable. </p> <p> </p> <p>Dr J Khan </p>
