Bonitas sells pipe dreams to members

my mom has been with bonitas for many years, she was later diagnosed with type 11 diabetes and was referred to the Centre for Endriconologists in Houghton and she was there for many years as well, the programme was great, the doctors and al**** services were great, the nurse, the pharmacy and overall managed by a team of specialist physicians, podiatrist, dieticians, gym, eye surgeon. One day out of the blue Bonitas decided to terminate the programme for theer members and said go find a GP to manage your diabetes co-moborbidities, how does a guy or a girl work as a GP in possession of a certificate on diabetes suddenly become a specialist to care for a diabetic geriatric patient with co-morbodities and integrative approach by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals that are highly specialized. Also Bonitas refuses to approve glocumeter strips that are used to test sugar levels. My mom tests twice a day, am before food (like fastin) and and pm, 2hrs after food. So Bonitas nly allows a box of 50 strips to test for a 3 month period. In the meantime we have to pay cash when medical aid has chronic funds for her chronic conditions. The last time we got a box of strips for the glucometer was in March. She needs 3 boxes of test strips per month.
