Bonitas refusing to refund premium after death of member

Bonitas Medical Fund is continuing to find every excuse not to refund a Premium paid for August 2024 after my mother passed away. The premium was paid on the morning of 31 July 2024 and my mother passed away on the evening of 31 July 2024. As medical aid premiums are paid a month in advance, it stood to reason my mother would not be utilising her medical aid for August. Bonitas agreed to the refund but after 15 months of stalling tactics, they have still not refunded the the premium. My mother's medical aid premiums were always paid by me, from my bank account. Despite this, Bonitas insisted on making this refund of R2934 an Estate issue. My mother's Executors (who are leading and long-standing Attorneys in Durban) submitted all the documentation Bonitas requested pertaining to the late estate but not withstanding this, after 15 months, Bonitas has still not refunded the premium into the late estate bank account. In stark contrast, my mothers gap cover provider refunded the August premium immediately. Even the Executors are at a loss to understand why the delay in doing the refund. I have called Bonitas many times to try and resolve this issue but you can never speak to anyone in authority. Their Finance division do not take calls and if you are lucky to speak to a call centre team leader, they just give you more push back and excuses. And every tine you call, there is another excuse and another request for another document. This has gone on for 15 months! The Executors have tried to contact them repeatedly but they don't respond to their mails. I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain email addresses of people in authority to no avail. You just cannot get passed the call centre operator. Response emails from Bonitas are AI generated generic messages. The situation is an absolute disgrace and I will continue to fight for what is rightfully owed. Bonitas simply cannot get away with treating past loyal clients in this way. My mother had been a Bonitas member for many years, and I paid for her membership every month and on time. Bonitas, you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing this matter to persist for 15 months. After all, we are talking about a mere R2934 which from the outset you agree should be reimbursed. So stop this nonsense and refund the premium.

If anyone has a direct email address for someone in authority at Bonitas or even the CEO'S email please post here. I am not pursing this because of the money, it's about the principle of the matter.

Dear Bonitas
This is the third time I've posted on this platform about the same matter and you given me the same response three times.
Nothing has been done to resolve this matter so you and whoever manages your complaints is a total waste of time.
I will continue to post on all complaints platforms including submitting a formal complaint to the Consumer Council and the medical Ombudsman. As a matter of principle and what is rightfully owed, I will not let this matter rest until such time as you reimburse the premium.
