Bonitas' pharmacy crisis

Bonitas rewards their members with making available an affordable alternative in a pharmacy of THEIR choice to save on co-payments on meds either way. However, they also severely punish members like me by forcing me to rely upon such pharmacies, this one being Pharmacy Direct. These guys claim that they are reliable, but from the onset we're informed that they do not stock Estradot and that they cannot get hold of our GP. Now the Diamicron is also an issue. This is two out of the three meds my wife needs. RELIABLE? How? Whether they're just completely inept or whether they profit less off patients like my wife, both Bonitas and Pharmacy Direct in their diabolical union causes high stress levels in patients, and endless headaches in sourcing prescribed meds. Bonitas would simply not have us remain at Dischem, where the meds are always available. They would not carry the cost, see. Now Pharmacy Direct is shunting us back and forth while Bonitas sits arms folded, laughing. Because I don't see anyone trying to help us. The lady calling from Pharmacy Direct asks my wife: must I suck medication we don't have out of the air? That just says it all. Cash ***s and numbers we are. Not patients.

What Pharmacy Direct is telling me (while running a few emails behind already) is that, because they are a pharmacy that does not stock what the patient require, and because they cannot adequately liaise with medical practitioners because of their own shortfalls the patient must now scuttle to make a plan on the day that the meds have run out. I cannot see why this must become the patient’s worry. It is Pharmacy Direct that cannot supply medication. Worst of all is the complete indifference and equal uselessness of Bonitas in this entire mess. You force us to use so-called “service providers” like Pharmacy Direct that cannot deliver, cause stress and discomfort to the patient and the main member (at work, no less) and then does nothing to remediate the situation; nothing whatsoever. No thanks to Bonitas for doing this onto us. I call for a similar and worse curse to befall you all. Pharmacy Direct is no pharmacy at all. It is a mill stone around the patient’s neck. You are all of no use whatsoever.

I know that it has been resolved because I was the one that facilitated said resolve. It was by no means whatsoever the efforts of Bonitas or Pharmacy Direct. I was- and this must come as a shock- strangely able to reach the new GP on the first attempt. The patient (my wife) then explained the service provider's (Pharmacy Direct's) inutility and Bonitas' absentia, and the GP then prescribed alternate medication that was (lo and behold!) available at Pharmacy Direct. We were just as surprised as you undoubtedly were. It was therefore the PATIENT that had to remedy the disorder she was consigned to by your alliance with Pharmacy Direct. Now all that remains is delivery of said mediation to take place, eight days into the new month.

I was requested by Vivian at Pharmacy Direct to reference patient’s details. I do this with every email correspondence. Yet they still manage to get the address wrong- and deliver elsewhere. Did you know: When female patients do not receive hormonal (replacement) treatment as prescribed they have physical symptoms of illness. This is where your patient has now progressed to thanks to the complete ineptness of your ridiculous service provider, Pharmacy Direct. Kindly urge them to deliver the meds required URGENTLY to the address referenced in email correspondence. You are all torturing this patient by failing to do what you are meant to do. Perhaps it is time that all of you endeavor to do something else, like sweeping streets. At least then you may one day no longer have to bear the shame of being useless.
