Bonitas Needs to Consider Members Views

I am 82 years old and my wife is 78. We have been members of Bonitas for over 20 years. On the whole Bonitas is a good medical scheme. There are few things the authorities need to look at with regard to the Standard option. Day to day benefits are too little especially when you need blood tests and x-rays. When you are treated by a specialist after being referred to by a GP for a long time, you need to get a referral for authorisation every 6 months for the same problem, i.e. visit a GP to see the same specialist (waste of Fund money). Certain expensive/essential medication for treatment are out of PMB. Member has to pay. Refunds for claims should be paid to the member and not the doctor, who collects the fees twice. The member has to ask the doctor to reimburse him/her.
