Bonitas misleads in their brocures giving info about their plans and their cover.

I use to be on Bonsave medical aid plan with Bonitas. It wasn't the best plan or most expensive, but for me and my daughter it was sufficient. How ever, my daughter needed braces and I knew I had to get it sorted before she gets to old. I started doing my research more than a year in advance, asking parents who's kids had braces and dentists regarding prices and how long it takes. Everybody told me it's between R40 000 and about R50 000. My options was getting a bank loan, or going onto a more expensive medical plan, either with Bonitas or Discovery. I contacted the broker that works with our works medical aid and she suggested I go with Bonitas Standard Select plan, as the pay 80% and I will have to pay 20%. In their Brochure there is nothing about limits. So I worked out that if the braces cost R50 000, then I will pay about R1 500 a month more than the Bonsave plan I was on and then another R10 000 for my 20% share I would have to pay. So I decided with the help of the broker to go for this option. So beginning of this year I took my daughter to the Orthodontist after she was referred by our dentist who we have been going to for the last 13 years. The quote was for R45 000. I send it in to medical and they approved. Braces in and I have to start pay. But then I realize they are only covering about R20 000 and I have to pay the rest. We talking of me having to pay about R20 000 more than I planned for. When I wrote to Bonitas they eventually rep**** that they have a limit of R25 000, and of that they only pay 80% of that. But in their brocures there is nothing about any limit. I queried this with our broker and she agreed that Bonitas don't mention anything about a limit. She intern queried it with the lady at Bonitas that she deals with, a Bongi, and the lady from Bonitas also agreed that there is nothing in there brochures about a limit. I then spoke to someone from Denis who apologized and also agreed with me that Bonitas does not mention anything about a R25 000 limit in their brochure. No one can tell me why I now have to pay so much, but somehow I am expected to just accept it that I was led under false pretenses. It would have been cheaper for me to get a bank loan and paid it of like that and stayed on my old plan, or to have gone to Discovery. I feel like I have been ****** or *****ulently mislead with a product that was falsely advertised. I am disgusted with Bonitas. Is there an medical aid ombudsman or must I go and see lawyers in regard with this? I was told one thing and received a completely different reality. This has been going on for weeks and it seems that Bonitas is just ignoring me. Be careful people, don't trust Bonitas brochures, even if the sales people tell you what is the best options according to the medical aid adverti*****ts (medical aid brochure for their plans).
