Bonitas Medical ****

My son was admitted for an emergency operation to Eugene Marais hospital, after hours, 09/07/2019. We arrived at the Emergency Room and a consultation with a doctor and a surgeon and an x-ray and a sonar, it was determined that he had an abscess in this foot and had to have emergency surgery. They did not want him to leave the hospital and wanted to operate as soon as possible, but he just ate and the anesthetist determined that the risk would be too high He was therefor admitted to be monitored until they could perform the operation the next morning. The hospital check with Bonitas system for authorisation and they informed the that it was granted, and that no co-payment would be required. I was still unsure and checked with them again, they assured me that there would be no co-payment that they are aware of and there is not co-payment from the hospital side. I still tried to check with Bonitas myself but was unable to get hold of them, as it was after hours. I then checked on their website, and saw that Eugene Marais Hospital is listed as a Network hospital: image.png as indicated. Their website indicates the following disclaimer: image.png I then downloaded the document stipulated on the website, and checked if this document indicates any co-payment. None was indicated, as attached CMS-Approved-Annexure-B-Hospital-Standard-and-BonEssential-2019.pdf After admission, I later received authorisation documentation from Bonitas indicating a 30% co-payment. As attached - ***.pdf Also included was the Patient Checklist Bonitas.pdf - as attached I later received a Member Statement indicating that the full hospital account was not paid. - as attached, MEMBER_STATEMENT_*** 072019.pdf image.png Please also note - on the attached Patient Checklist Bonitas.pdf, received with the Authorisation letter, it is indicated that: image.png (If you had an operation, the 6 week follow-up visit is included in the fee payable to your surgeon, therefore no additional cost) The claim for the follow up visit to Dr Mullder was also rejected, 12/07/2019: image.png
