Bonitas Medical Fund

I was hospitalized and I required a drip called Aclasta, the hospital pharmacy confirmed that the Medical Aid rejected this request, and I was asked to pay cash.

I would like to add the following: - this drip costs between R2 200.00 to R3000.00 - My Medical Aid contribution to Bonitas is R6000 for myself only. - I have a valid issue with my bones; my bone density results can prove this. - I was given this drip the previous year in May 2025, the Medical Aid paid for it. - I went the extra mile and requested a motivation from the doctor of which I scanned and email to the Medical Aid whilst I was admitted. - I called a few hours later and the consultant re-assured me she will take this request to the case manager at the Medical Aid; nothing happened. - I called again the next day and spoke to another consultant stating I needed this drip prior to me getting discharged, to date no response from Bonitas.

Now here is what I find funny, this R2000 drip helps with the strengthening of my bones, God forbid I fall tomorrow and break any of my bones, my medical aid will then pay for whatever surgeries or prothesis I will require, logically does this make sense, this is a joke really.

To date no response from Bonitas and I was discharged on Friday evening.

I would like to add that the Bonitas staff is extremely de-motivated knowing that they will be retrenched from their jobs.
