Bonitas Medical Aid is a ****

My children were both hospitalised after contracting a deadly virus that attacked their respiratory systems, After being discharged, I received 2 medical bills to the amount of R15 000. Bonitas has not paid these medical bills. Firstly, it should have been covered from the "in-hospital benefits".

Secondly, all the available savings were used up to cover what is considered as “in-hospital benefits”. The children received authorisation on admission. This is unacceptable.

I have still not received any feedback regarding my query as to why there are no savings available for the main member. As per the Bonsave brochure, the main member receives R4104 savings. The available savings for the main member were used up as well as the dependants available savings to pay some of the medical bills, when we're entitled to "in-hospital benefits" This is absurd and unjustifiable!!!

I am very disappointed in Bonitas Medical Fund!!!

I am still not happy regarding this matter.
As per the Bonitas brochure the available savings should have only been used for out of hospital benefits and not been used to pay in hospitalisation as stipulated on page 24 of the brochure.
The savings should be used for out of hospital benefits to provide cover for GP consultations or specialists, acute medicine, x-rays, blood tests and other out-of-hospital medical expenses NOT in hospitalisation!!!
