Bonitas Medical Aid denies life saving surgery to a 72 year old long standing member

Today is the 18th June 2020, the scheduled date that my mom is supposed to be in hospital for surgery to remove spindle cell carcinoma of the breast however Bonitas Medical Aid medical review doctor allocated my mom's case to check a single code has not bothered to look at the case despite numerous calls and escalations from the hospital authorization team. Sandton Mediclinic refused to admit her without authorization and we are currently sitting in the car waiting for a response. My mom has been a member of Bonitas for over 45 years. She's 72 years old and being denied a life saving surgical treatment to remove the neoplasm of the breast. Bonitas forgets that they exist because of member contributions, the employees forget that they ear exorbitant salaries and bonus as a result of members contributions. I have never in my entire life experienced such incompetence, laziness and insolent from a medical aid or any other organisation. Their call centre staff hang up on you. The staff, team members, clinical team and case managers are not doing their job and don't care for patients lives at all. For a 72 year old to wake up at 4h50am to prepare herself for 7am admission for the surgery only to be kicked out of hospital facility due to medical aid incompetence is disgusting. It's also ****** of Sandton Mediclinic to treat us badly. I know for a fact that hospitals make exceptions and admit patients with pending hospital authorization whilst waiting for approval. It's also ****** treatment from Bonitas Medical Aid to treat my mum's case as irrelevant, if she was white this nonsense would not be happening. Bonitas Medical thinks they have the right to play God. Let's see how that works out for them when things go pear shaped. I see they've got the money to pay hundreds of millions of rands for a single litigation case. The doctors are frustrated, i am fuming and my poor mom is exhausted from 2 weeks on stop run of medical tests and waking up at ungodly hours.
