Bonitas life saving or stress causing

<p>A few years ago my Husband and I changed medical aids, because of all the co-payments and red tape most medical aids had at that point in time – Bonita’s was the best options then.</p> <p>Today we are so disappointed in Bonita’s, our medical aid that is suppose to help us and get us through the difficult times, is now the leading cause of our stress.</p> <p>I need a procedure that can only be done in hospital and there is a co-payment of R3300.00. Would it not be better for the medical aid to cover this amount than have another pregnancy and child brought into this world that would inevitably cause more expenses on the medical aid.</p> <p>My handsome 7year old son was diagnosed recently with Psoriasis (it is a chronic autoimmune condition) – Anyone that knows something about Psoriasis knows that if left untreated Psoriasis can cause a number of life threatening complications and snowball into other health issues. But Bonita’s is not willing to cover his meds and creams that he desperately needs under chronic.</p> <p>My gorgeous 10yr old daughter is going to need specialised dentistry, not just because we want to tweak her gorgeous smile! She was born with a lower jaw that did not develop properly. It affects her sinuses and causes allergies, because she cannot close her mouth properly when she breathes. She does not have enough space in her mouth for teeth that are coming out, so she needs teeth extracted as a necessity but of course there is a co-payment of R3000.00 for the teeth that need to be extracted this time round. Then of course the braces she will need are also not covered by the medical aid!??</p> <p>My mother is also a Bonita’s client; she is a second time cancer survivor. The long term medication she was on to try and suppress the cancer from spreading after her first battle with cancer did not work. Causing the second fight for her life against cancer. Anyone who has a family member who has cancer or who has battled cancer knows the fight you have to put on for your life and your loved ones. There is now an injection that the Oncologist feels would definitely be a better option seeing as the pills long term did not work last time. . . but now we find out today, Bonitas is not willing to pay for these injections she needs twice a month, to try and stay healthy and suppress the cancer. Bonitas would rather fit the bill for the same pills that didn’t work last time long term, or more chemo. (We did not realise a medical aid could put a price on someone’s life cause the injections are way too expensive)</p> <p>We are not a family that runs to the doctor for every little ache and pain. We just really thought we made the best choice and could depend on our medical aid to have us covered when life throws its punches at us. Which inevitably happens eventually. That our medical aid would have us covered if and when a life threatening or life changing diagnosis is made.</p> <p>Like a little girl struggling with her teeth that are not coming out like they should and her mouth that pains. And a little boy that is covered in red painful skin lesions that burst and keep coming out more right now. A mom that would like to have herself sorted so that she can keep trying to provide for her two children as best as what she can, instead of having more babies that she can’t provide for like they deserve.</p> <p>And then their Grandmother that the two above mentioned children absolutely adore-Bonitas is not willing to fit the bill for the injections that could be life preserving for her (We did not realise a medical aid could put a price on someone’s life cause the injections are way too expensive)</p> <p> Their Grandmother is such a huge part of their lives.</p> <p> </p> <p>What are we paying so much money for every month, our hard earned money.</p> <p> </p> <p>Bonita’s . . . . Is REALLY disappointing!!!!!!</p> <p> </p>
