Bonitas is the worst medical aid...s**** them off your list if you are contemplating joining

Bonitas Medical aid could care less about your heath as long as your monthly payments are made. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 26 years ago - a serious and painful auto immune disease for which there is no cure. I take daily injections in addition to a host of other medication to control my illness. I also battle depression. The main problem with Bonitas is that they force you to use Pharmacy Direct to dispense your medication or else they will not pay. Pharmacy Direct employs the most *********** staff who are playing Russian roulette with my illness. Over the past year my scripts have been incorrectly captured on their system. My medication is always delivered late and the ripple effect this has caused is that I run out of my medication every month. I have been without medication for a week now which has caused my body to go into withdrawal. There are other pharmacies (i.e Dischem) who can supply the same chronic meds at virtually the same cost. Trying to get Bonitas to intervene has proved futile. If you are considering joining this medical aid, please re-think your decision. You end up paying a large portion for your meds plus doctors fees anyway (in addition to monthly membership fees) so it does not make sense that you are bul**** into using a pharmacy that does not deliver. Hoping Bonitas will foot the cost of a wheelchair because that is exactly where my disease is heading.
