Bonitas is South Africas worst Medical Aid !

Bonitas is without doubt in my view the worst medical aid in SA ! I have been waiting for a simple authorisation for my hospital admission and procedures that I urgently need . At 12h00 today the hospital i am at sent through all the authorization documentation Bonitas required. I was assured that it would be escalated and resolved by end of business today. Their stupid excuse was backlog from long weekend. To save costs most medical aids do not operate on public holidays that fall on a weekday. This is capitalism at its best! A colleague of mine who is at Mediclinic with a similar procedure and having only being admitted today has had his procedure approved in two hours since Mediclinic makes sure their favorite hospitals work effectively despite the same hospital group being currently investigated for billing *****. I am at a black owned private hospital and so the embedded ****** and stereotypes guide how the hospital is treated Now that no authorisation has been given i will not in all likelihood have my procedure tomorrow whilst my friend will be going home despite me being admitted four days ago. The call center staff think we work for them and are arrogant, ******** and uncaring and let me not forget DISHONEST. A patient will in all likelihood not go to theater on the day the authorisation is approved since in typical *********** organisations it will come after lunch and by then the slate for theater for the next day has been allocated and I will be placed on standby. I will cease membership of this blood sucking greedy profit driven medical aid this year. Dont be fooled by their ads claiming they are the best or their sponsorships of various events that in the main cater for the elites in our society. Why should mine and other members funds be used to sponsor a mountain bike races in the western cape only or other ridiculous sponsorships when their primary purpose is to fund health care. I will no doubt suffer additional victimization as will the hospital group i am at since institutions like Bonitas still use the race of patients, doctors and hospital owners to determine how to respond to our requests for medical services. Their app is a joke, it doesn't work properly and they are quite happy to advise that if the app cannot process the activation of their benefit booster a member must go to Clicks and Dischem and do the wellness screening. No small pharmacies can even enter this space since the owners of Clicks and Dischem are favored largely based on their ownership profile. The cost of the wellness screening is clearly higher than filling in a wellness questionnaire on the dysfunctional Bonitas App. In the end however instead of fixing the app , our funds are wasted ensuring that two pharmacy groups owned largely by certain types of South Aficans make easy money. Stop the ****** Bonitas and become efficient so that your clients are happy and can recover from their health challenges. But this is South Africa, a highly monopolized economy that does not care about transformation and acts in the interests of a wealthy group of billionaires who reside in that famous town in the western cape and run our economy like a mafia operation.
