BONITAS - HEARING AID - Internal Processes re Gap Cover Claim
It has now been nearly three months since BONITAS’ Hear Connect department was first engaged to reflect my hearing aid claim on my benefit statement. Despite numerous follow-ups and escalations, as of 03 September 2025, the claim remains absent from my statement—preventing me from initiating reimbur*****t through my gap cover. This prolonged delay for such a straightforward administrative task is unacceptable. Until BONITAS resolves its internal inefficiencies and updates my benefit statement accordingly, I remain without my hearing aids. The lack of responsiveness and accountability is deeply disappointing. BONITAS’ internal processes have proven to be not only ineffective but obstructive to essential care.

As of today, I spoke to Sipho on the 10 November 2025, it has been three full working days since I was advised that my query would be investigated. Regrettably, I have yet to receive any form of communication—no phone call, no email, and no update of any kind.
Once again, I found myself having to contact the Call Centre today (10 November 2025), under reference number 101125Q74PQP, with no resolution in sight. This continued lack of follow-through is deeply disappointing.
We are now entering the annual window for reviewing and changing our medical aid providers. Tomorrow, I will be attending my company’s Benefits Day, where I intend to engage with representatives from Discovery and BestMed to explore alternative options.
While BONITAS has historically provided good service, recent experiences have been far from acceptable. A simple request for a statement has dragged on for nearly three months, reflecting a concerning level of inefficiency and internal miscommunication. It appears that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, and the back-office support—along with its management—has failed to meet even basic service expectations.
