Bonitas = ****
I really thought Bonitas would be different from the other medical aid schemes but they are just as bad.
After breaking my back to pay them R1338 every month for a year, THE ONE TIME I go to the doctor for earache, I STILL have to pay the doctor a co-payment. I paid Bonitas over R10 000 and they can't cover THE ONE doctor's consultation I go to. I still have to pay a co-payment.
What is the point of medical aid if I'm still paying the doctor for something as simple as earache?
Not only will they happily take your money and spam your email inbox with their stupid newsletter, they will ALSO NOT pay for your doctor's visit in full. You are better off getting a hospital plan and saving the money you would have paid a medical aid for doctor's visits. There's zero point in paying medical aid when you STILL have to cough up money to pay the doctor as well.

R16 056 in medical aid contributions for the past year, you can only pay a measly R380 for my doctor's visit for a simple earache and that I have to pay the rest of the consultation fee even though I apparently get 5 consultations. When I need you to pay for my medical bills, you KEEP THE MONEY I've paid you and just pay R380. I've already spoken to a Bonitas consultant. They told me I still have to pay the doctor because Bonitas will only pay R380. This is *****ED behaviour. Daylight *******. You've ****** R15 676 of my money because you can apparently only pay R380. There is no point paying a medical aid if the medical aid cannot help me.

But now that's not the case. I still have to pay the doctor. That is not above board behaviour. Also I have paid you thousands of rands and you can't even pay ONE doctor's consultation. That is also not above board behaviour. You have no idea how difficult it is for me to make the money to pay you every month. You take it and laugh your way to the bank and I STILL have to pay the doctor. How can a member not feel betrayed? I will be cancelling my membership.
