Bonitas DECLINE PMB surgery!!!

Bonitas declined a PMB back surgery by only taking the MRI report in consideration, not the Drs (Neurosurgeon) motivation letter that the patient consulted with and without ever meeting the patient, they concluded that its not PMB even though the patient is in constant extreme pain and has weakness in his left leg leaving him unable to work, sleep or do any normal every day activities. No pain meds is helping anymore. All other alternative measures has been taken without success. Bonitas now recon its an exclusion on the medical aid even though the council of medical schemes clearly state if any benefits changes on the scheme members should be informed, info should be in the brochures and on the website and non of it has ever been communicated to the members in anyway! CMS also state that if it affects your way of life it is considered PMB. They are refusing the surgery even having been informed of all the CMS rules.<br> He has been a member of Bonitas for many years and now that he needs urgent surgery they are refusing much needed PMB surgical treatment! What is the use of having a fund if they are not open and honest with its members!!!
