Bonitas "Day to Day" Benefits for GP's and Specialist *******

<p>I am a member of Bonitas "Standard Option" which is their most popular option. On this option for two members ( wife and myself) our Day to Day Benefits are R7970,00 for all other than GP visits and R5500,00 for GP Visits. The rate for "network GP's " is R303,78 which equates to 18 vists to the GP for the two of us or 9 visits each. I suggest that this is many more visits to a GP than a normal member would use and if you dont use the money, you loose it the next year. On the other hand the other "day to day" benefit is R7970 which has to be used for all other medical expenses including medication, blood tests, X rays and visits to Specialists. This ampunt for us is normally used up by July. When questioned about why Bonitas dont pay specialists from GP's as specialists are actually doctors who have studied further their remark was that is their policy so take it or leave it. To make the "*******" even worse the amount that Bonitas pay towards specialists is exactly the same tariff that they pay to GP's. How then can they deduct Specialists fees from other day to day costs and not from GP's. The only reason is that they know that most of their members will not use the full GP limit but will use the other day to day amount which therefore allows them to make more profit and "******* " their members. What other reason could there be. Unfortunatly as a pensioner I have no say as to what medical aid I belong to so am stuck with this.</p> <p>Come on members are you prepared to be ********** like this. If not do something and make Bonitas see reason and put their custiomers before their profit </p>
