Bonitas - "benefits" only admin - Bonitas admin is really bad - causes stress
I've been a Bonitas member ever since I was born - I am now 31 years old. Now that I am pregnant, I have to keep track of my benefits and submit claims weekly after appointments. But yoh, the amount of admin I've been through since I've been pregnant is ridiculous. The last straw this morning was when I submitted a claim for my antenatal classes. According to my standard plan - which I pay R4500 for - I have R1400 for antenatal classes. This morning I received another email stating that they are only paying R654. I can't explain the ongoing disappointment and anxiety I've had working with Bonitas. Previously I had to fight for some form of payment for my fetal specialist to be paid as well - I paid R3400 and Bonitas covered R620. Apparently, my plan include 12 antenatal classes - Bonitas pays R450 per appointment. My gyna is a minimum of R1500 per visit. This is over and above when I tried to claim under my "benefits" for scans - always wondering if it's paid from the correct pot of money. I still believe some of my claims are wrong. I've filled in many surveys for Bonitas sharing my disappointment in their poor admin, put no one seem to care. I would rather just go with another medical aid, even if you have less benefits, to give a skip on this admin, anxiety and stress caused.

I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days. While there I had to deal with the stressful admin of Bonitas not paying for in-hospital things as well. As mentioned before, this is from the Standard Bonitas plan of R4500 per month.
The longer this admin is stretched and the more stress they cause me, not caring about me, I can confidently say that I will be leaving Bonitas - I will also be moving my husband's medical aid. My next step is to go to community newspapers with this news and show them all my reviews and how Bonitas is NOT delivering on basic benefits. I have 4 weeks left before I go into labour, and my MEDICAL AID is my biggest stress and worry. How must I deal with this admin when I have a newborn. I am really worried. Every time I write a review, someone will contact me or email me from a nameless email (which is also a non reply email) and the page will write back on my review saying "all is resolved" when it's not.
