Bonitas - A waste of time and money - Require GP referral for a Dermatologist

The need for a GP referral to consult a dermatologist is a waste of time and money. Something that Bonitas does not seem able to grasp or chooses to ignore at the expense of their members. I have had to visit a GP twice for a skin condition prior to being referred to a dermatologist for the correct diagnosis and treatment because Bonitas does not allow members to consult a dermatologist without a referral from a GP. Not only did I have to pay for two GP consults (one of which was to just obtain a referral letter from the GP) and the medication prescribed by the GP as well as for a further consult with the dermatologist and medication prescribed by the dermatologist but I have also been told by the dermatologist that the nature of the skin condition has changed as a result of the initial medication that was prescribed by the GP. An absolute waste of time and money for a medical issue that should have been initially treated by a dermatologist.
