On the 1 July I informed Bonitas that I got a new job that does not have medical aid benefit as my previous employer was contributing towards my medical aid and can't afford the current medical option anymore and need to downscale to a lower option and I do not want to terminate or lose my benefits as I'm pregnant and have been with them for more than 7 years. They responded by informing me that they will transfer my benefits and will not have any waiting period my pregnancy is covered fully, and my savings would be transferred to the new option. Last month had a complication with my pregnancy to my surprise they told me that they can't cover me because of waiting period mind you, I had to drive up and down requesting underwriting what what from my doctor in order for them to cover for my bills. Now I am scared not sure if the same thing will happen when I give birth for something that I explained numerous times to them even when my Gyneacologist claim I would call them and ask for clarification and confirmation that I am fully covered and they would confirm that my pregnancy is covered. Now I am not sure whether to request the underwriting report now or book myself at a public hospital. They do not even respond to emails only calls
