Boncap Bonitas
Boncap has once again in updated their income verification process without providing members with sufficient notice. Members on the lowest income band are now required to obtain a UIF statement from the Department of Labour as proof of unemployment. This change is highly inconvenient, as members must now spend additional time and resources to gather this documentation, especially since the update was only communicated to clients in October. Affidavits confirming unemployment are no longer accepted.

19 Nov 2025, 13:52I followed up to confirm whether a Team Leader would contact me to explain why the Boncap income verification rules have changed without notifying members. Boncap no longer accepts affidavits confirming unemployment and will only accept a UIF certificate.
My client contacted the Department of Labour and was told they must visit the offices in person. The member was only informed of this change in October and has until 30 November to submit the required documents. Boncap also failed to clearly communicate that affidavits would no longer be accepted.
The client does not have the time or resources to go to the Labour Department for a UIF certificate.
Very disappointing.
