Been seeing the same specialist for 40 years, now they won't pay him

<p>My wife and I have been seeing the same urologist for 40 years now with no medical aid issues. We were with Liberty life, which has been taken over by Bonitas, and since that change, medical aid has become an absolute nightmare.</p> <p> </p> <p>Their call centre agents are rude and not interested in resolving any issues.</p> <p>In 2016, I had some issues with kidney stones, which the urologist was treating with a follow up visit for Jan 2017.</p> <p>Bonitas refuses to pay the doctor for the 2017 visits because according to their statement I was no a member of their medical aid when the doctor visits were done (seeing as they took over Liberty and I was with Liberty, they're talking *******), and they say that I should have got a GP referal even though it was a follow up visit regarding treatment begun before these idiotic rules came into being.</p> <p> </p> <p>Speaking to Bonitas is a waste of time, they have zero interest in helping with anything - next stop a formal complaint with the Council for medical Schemes.</p>
