APPAULED WITH THIS MEDICAL AID

As you know Liberty medical aid scheme was taken over by Bonita's In the beginning of 2017 with higher rates and fewer benefits

At the end of June I was advised that as a dependent my savings were depleted and as per advertised have to pay R1326 For self payment gap before I reach my threshold.

Since my first out of pocket expense on the 30.06.2017 I have submitted the slips as and when received in order to sooner reach the threshold.

To date I have paid R8444.60 out of my own pocket and when my husband filled a prescription for me today he was advised that the medical would not cover it.

Not only have I submitted these claims on numerous occasions and followed up to no avail, I have not received anything more than an automated response.

So my gap cover is not being updated, my threshold has not been reached and they are still to reimburse me for the excess claims paid out of my own pocket.

My husband who still has most of his savings went to the dr for the first time this year and the bill was sent to me to pay as the medical aid didn't cover his dr bill for some reason.

On numerous occasions we requested our Tax certificates from Both Liberty and Bonitas and after 2 months finally received the one from Liberty yesterday- not even sent to us from the company but from our liberty broker. After pointing out to Bonita's for the last two months that the tax certificates (Yes multiples of them) are incorrect and requested for them to correct it we again received yet another incorrect one yesterday. (Again not even from the medical scheme but from our broker) So we have been members now for the whole year and are still awaiting our membership cards also requested on numerous occasion.

I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and can honestly say that not only is Bonita's placing me and my family under tremendous financial strain having to cover all the bills from our own pocket they are also causing me tremendous anxiety as I am worried for the health of my self and my baby come time for the delivery.

I would like to add that we are on the bon Complete plan which is considered the 3rd best plan provided by the scheme and pay quite a small fortune, well not so small considering that I have paid almost 2 months premiums out of my own pocket and am yet to receive the curtesy of s response.
