APPALLING SERVICE AND PAYMENTS TO SERVICE PROVIDERS

I have been hospitalized 3 times in the month of 1 November 2017. I have used a certain hospital for the surgery to take place and called the call centre to find out about an Anesthesiologist that charges within the medical aid rate which they responded that they do not have any.

They said I can use any Anaesthesiologist and they will pay at the bonitas rate. When the account was sent through to medical aid only R3785.90 was paid of the R9211. 28. They did not pay anything towards the 199minutes of the surgery that was R4761.25. They did not pay anything of the R2380.63 that was charged for BMI because I am overweight. So (this is how Bonitas is discriminating against FAT/OBESE people and all the call centre staff can tell you is that its in modifier but they cant even explain what modifier is). Furthermore I do understand that specialists charge out of medical aid rates but to pay R3482.85 towards a complete hysterectomy and excision of stage 4 endometriosis is ridiculous. Not mentioning that they didnt pay anything towards the specialist assistants that assisted with this surgery. I had to have a bowel resection as well and only R4000 odd rands was paid toward this. WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO BONITAS??? I am appalled by your service and have never been so sorry to belong to Bonitas. All in all I have had to pay over R30 000 in cash to have these procedures covered.
