ANOTHER WAY TO WASTE TIME AND MONEY

I've recently had the dissatisfaction of finding out that any Specialist consults need to go via my GP. This even though medical aid is not paying for it - 100% comes directly from my funds.

The ridiculous response that I received was that I go to my GP first and if he can't assist then only will I get a referral to a specialist.

1. Time: In this day and age where everyone is in a rat race, we have to now have to make time in our busy schedules to go to the GP who might or might not be able to help. 2. Unnecessary expenses: So I go to my GP. He will try to assist me with my medical ailment. Get charged for a consult and meds that might not even work. Then hurry up and wait. If this doesn't work, then go back to my GP and get a referral to the specialist and then pay the specialist again and for meds that's prescribed by the specialist.

My point is that in this day and age everyone wants to try and save time and money where ever we can. This is just another way that medical aid is trying to ***** members over.
