A Living Nightmare

After a truly horrible and distressing experience with this medical aid, I am left deeply disappointed and emotionally exhausted. Instead of being allowed the peace to focus on my recovery, I was subjected to ongoing stress during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life.

I was admitted to hospital as an emergency, where my only concern was surviving and being able to breathe — not administrative requirements like pre-authorisation, which I was never informed about. Despite this, they are refusing to pay my claim because the hospital did not obtain pre-authorisation on my behalf.

To make matters worse, days later I received a bill from the hospital stating that I now owe them money, while I am still in recovery. I have called this medical aid several times in desperation, but they have shown no willingness to assist or guide me through the process. Each call left me feeling ignored, helpless, and dismissed.

Being financially penalised for seeking emergency medical care, and then being met with indifference when asking for help, is heartbreaking. This experience reflects a complete lack of compassion and support, and I would strongly caution anyone considering this medical aid.

I would not wish this on anyone!
