Taxi Fare increase en route

I took bolt on Friday from midrand to the airport and again today from the airport to midrand. When I request the taxi is a certain amount but when we arrive at the destination that price has increased. Today the driver missed an off ramp that was on his map to take the long way to my destination. The fare increased by R50, what would have happened if I didn't have the R50.
