I left my phone in the Bolt ride

I left my phone in the Bolt ride and I contacted Bolt support. Bolt support contacted the driver and later sent me a mail that the driver will contact me to bring back my phone within 24 hours. Now 24 hours has lapsed and no contact from the driver, and when I call the lost phone it just rings to voicemail. When I contact Bolt support they no longer responding. I really don't understand why I am left at the mercy of the driver when it is clear the driver does not want to bring back my phone.

Why there is no action from Bolt SA that can be taken against a driver that treats Bolt customers with disrespect like this.

Bolt SA as a company needs to take itself serious. Their level of no accountability is seriously appalling; especially in a country like SA where crime is so high. I expect business to have no tolerance for any sign of ******** tendencies, within its corridors, as an effort to help in bringing crime stats in SA down. They (Bolt SA) seem to have no policy on dealing with their Bolt drivers (like Sijabuliso Mbano) that have ******** tendencies. Bolt driver Sijabuliso Mbano confirmed to have my cellphone and that he will contact me to bring to me my phone within 24hrs, but to this day he has not contacted me and when I try to call my phone he does not answer it; he has now removed the SIM CARD and I don't have any number to call him. Bolt support seems to have nothing they can do to a Bolt driver like Sijabuliso Mbano. I expected them to blacklist Sijabuliso Mbano for his behavior so that other customers do not get to experience the same. But, the only thing they can offer is that they will corporate with police if I open a case.

I would suggest that Bolt SA build a strong admin/management capacity to eliminate inefficiencies that renders them a very unsafe/life threatening hub. It may look like not that heavy to them that now I have lost my phone to the driver but every serious crime started as a small issue. Lack of integrity is one of the root causes of serious crimes that are crippling of country today and I wonder if Bolt SA understands this.

To our government; there should be an ombudsman to protect citizens against this types of businesses that lack accountability.

I have reached out to the driver and shared your number as well. Please be considerate of the driver's time and effort in bringing the item back. A thank-you token is acceptable.
Be prepared for his call within the next 24 hours.
