BOLT LOST PHONE AND POOR SERVICE

I lost a phone on my ride with BOLT driver ANDILE ZINDELA. Contacted BOLT and they gave me his number, saying he had the phone and was waiting for my call. I called him numerous times and it went to voicemail. Checked with BOLT again to verify the number and whether it was working - they said yes it was working. Tried again, again and again - to no avail. Asked for an alternative number and after a loooong wait - they gave it to me. SAME THING HAPPENED. VOICEMAIL! They then claimed his account was suspended. Lies!

they gave me another - and the SAME happened. After a while they gave me another number and said to call him as he was waiting for my call. I called and he claimed to have called me for the phone. I calmly asked for him to meet me so I’d get the phone. We agreed on the following day. I called and guess what - VOICEMAIL! Now furious I asked bolt for his address as I was intent on opening a case against him. They refused, citing privacy and confidentiality. Then the strangest happened - I got a call from the other number in the phone, my girlfriend’s, as it has a dual sim tray. This time it was a distinctly North African accent, making excuse for this guy and making no sense at all - rambling. Again, I asked for the return of the phone. He suggested I meet him at a very shady and crime-infested locale in which I assume he lived, along with MR ZINDELA. My assumption at this point was that the phone had been sold to one of the North African phone resellers in that area. He had apparently used my girlfriend’s number to call a couple of her contacts, and even sent an image of the phone - for what reason, I don’t know. In all this time I had been in contact with bolt, trying to get to the bottom of this and find a solve, and I was so dismayed to find that my situation wasn’t isolated and this had happened a lot of people - I found this on their Facebook page.

I’d like to know how best to proceed as this is just very ******** in nature. BOLT, I hear - isn’t very helpful in these instances (of which many have been reported) - nor are they treating their drivers all that well either, as I’ve found out. Yet surely it is the province of any business to do proper vetting on their drivers before hiring. And it falls on them to ensure that using their service isn’t a painful and unpredictable affair - where at the best of times you get a very professional driver who conducts themselves with respect and restraint...and at worst you get ANDILE ZINDELA...a ******** in their service.
