Bolt driver in Pietermaritzburg

So today because of urgency I used Bolt I had to be at my destination before 9am. Due to it being a medical appointment I had no option but to use a Bolt. I usually use my most reliable personal driver who is so patient and professional with me even though I require extra assistance sometimes due to having a disability.

So Bolt driver comes on time I'm ready and waiting (ask any driver soon as I know they on their way I am waiting at a spot that I'm most visible) I get into vehicle. I greet and he greets back.

On Manchester road HE CHOSE another client bare in mind I'm still at distance from my destination. He selects to choose to pick up the next person who needs a ride. In between fetching me and dropping me off.

We get to my destination 3 minutes later. I explain to him that the individual at my destination has the cash that I need to give him which was R23.

He hoots and asks why I'm not jumping out I then explain I want to pay him first and then jump out. He shouts and says he has another client another pick up. So I then get out the car and go to fetch the money as I jump out he reverses in a wild way.

I call him back to take the money he says "you taking long my client is gonna drop the pick up".

I then quickly get the money to go back to the car this guy then jumps out of vehicle very very abruptly and rudely and shouts "my other client is gonna cancel".

He then enters the yard to take the money and continues shouting that "you taking too long the other is gonna cancel the ride"

He grabs the money from an elderly person and when I mention how rude he was he gets even more rowdy and wants to create a scene.

We then just waited for him to leave the yard so we could close the gate and feel safer.

This is the first time I encountered such a rude, uncouth and arrogant driver. Which is shocking cause every single driver be it Bolt or Metered taxis had never behaved in this ill-mannered way.

I'm going to include his details because I do believe he is a danger to other females and elderly more so people with physical challenges. I also believe he feels as though by shouting, waving his hands around it will cause some to feel intimidated.

But. Sir. If you come across this you did not intimidate me but what you did was ***** your own reputation and probably created reason for many to decline your future pick ups.

Bolt as a whole before you employ drivers run them through personality and temperament testing.

Like I said I've used Bolt many times I've never had a problem because the drivers understood and knew that the customer that's currently in the vehicle always is priority. This dude decides to select another person to pick up while I'm still in the vehicle.

Any other driver would say that even though I have a disability I do try my best to be on time. Give accurate directions. Landmarks to make descriptions easier and also I pay before I am out of a vehicle 1. Safety purposes I feel uneasy taking out my wallet in public 2. Because I feel it's the appropriate thing to do.

But this man really startled me the pure unprofessional manner in his self-conduct. Putrid.

Because of the POPI act rules and regulations I unfortunately cannot share specific identification of this guy or full registration. Although if you had encountered him and had a similar experience you more than welcome to contact me.

I will take this further as I was not at fault in antway. I'd like for this driver to be dealt with. I will take to social media and make this traumatic experience known to the public. You as Bolt need to put these drivers through tests and evaluations before employing them and allowing the public to be bul**** and shouted by these uncouth employees.
