Car damage at security gate

<p>Wednesday the 5th of October at around 19:10 me and my wife drove home from my in-laws, both with separate cars. My wife drove in front of me and when we approached the security gate at the complex my wife stopped to open the gate with her tag. Just as she stopped both the booms opened at the same time, so she drove in. But unfortunately as she drove in the gate started to close and bumped the car, scratching it from the left back door to the back bumper. I know there are IR gate sensors but the gate did not stop even though the sensors was obstructed and when the gate bumped the car it also did not stop it just went on closing.<br />I see this as a real safety risk, seeing that the complex are full of children playing everywhere. Someone can easily get hurt if the IR sensors aren't working.</p> <p>I've reported the incident to Mr Danie Schutte at body corporate management seeing that they are responsible for managing the complex. After 3weeks of not hearing any thing from him I decided to go there, he then told me that they are busy with investigation regarding the matter. 3weeks went past again and I did not hear anything again, so decided to go there again in person. He then told me that theyou are not going to fix my car because there wasn't enough evidence that it was not my fault, even though there was a security guard on duty who gave a report to them regarding the incident....<br /> <br />I then decide to go to my insurance broker, where he then advised me that we will do a 3rd party claim against the complex's insurance. We then requested the insurance details of the complex from Mr Danie Schutte but he does not answer any emails or phone calls from my broker.</p>
