Overall experience - Terrible - Never Again
This booking was made for my sister on her birthday - it was a full spa day, called Queen of the Day. We made changes to the date a couple of times, which was handled well. We also added 2 more sisters to the booking, which also turned out great. So, how excited we four sisters were to actually spend a full day of being pampered at Body Sense Day Spa.
When we arrived at 10am… we were welcomed by Tricia, who was helpful etc and showed us to the dining room for breakfast. We sat down and Tricia brought us our Spa Questionnaires to fill out, where we realised that we forgot to tell her that the last sister that joined our group was vegetarian. Tricia then went on to explain she doesn’t have any vegetarian meals etc etc and that the stores were too far and and and. Granted, I forgot to tell her about my sister’s dietary requirements, but no one asked me either when I added sister no 3 and 4. So we said it is fine, just make her lunch into a bigger greek salad. We did not want to listen to excuses about being so far from shops or you not being able to borrow from the main house or or or….If you told us you couldn’t cater for us, we would have brought our own food. Later on, we did see a Mr Delivery or some food motorbike delivering food to the spa – if you told us, then I could have also ordered a veg burger or something substantial for my sister.
We had to sit for a long time to finally get our breakfast, which was very dissatisfying and not what their emails intimated. In my opinion, “Champagne breakfast” was definitely not muesli and yoghurt and a sad looking croissant, but that was fine…. Champagne never arrived. Finally after asking, a lady brought it to us, where we elected to have it at the jacuzzi. (Even that, it was not opened for us – just kept there – we had to open the bottle, with much difficulty and pour for all of us) The time between asking and actually receiving something was out of sync. We just waited for a very long time and was most disappointed with our champagne breakfast.
Everything we needed or queried, we had to go and knock at the door and ask one of the ladies. They were not attentive at all and did not even help us properly. It was one of the worst welcomes ever.
When Penelope fetched us from breakfast, things changed a little. We were shown to the change rooms and then went into the jacuzzi, sauna then our treatments started.
Our the******s made up for everything that happened in the morning. Sounds like the information that the reception staff had for our day was not communicated to the staff? They only knew that our treatments started at 12, therefore we were being ignored.
The setting for lunch was lovely but actual lunch was mediocre. The salad was the best part of the lunch, fresh and leafy.
The other problem was that there was not enough nail polish to go around. Products were not in stock. The******s told us to complain to management.
All in all, for the price I paid and for the hype that was built up for this spa day, it was disappointing. Thankfully our the******s made up with wonderful treatments.
The spa is amazing, with lovely views and reasonably good facilities. Thankfully the the******s make your place better.
Someone wrote a review about your spa on the Health Spas website and said “there is no such thing as a bad spa experience” That person is wrong – there is and Body Sense proved that to us many times in the morning of our spa day. As I said, fantastic place and spa – but poor staff and meals spoils it for you.
