Deceiving free trial contract

My name is Fikile. I have been a victim deceived into signing a supposedly free trial contract with Body Lab. I am so disgusted, appalled and deceived by the manner Body Lad does business, their sales consultants are so dishonest.

I work in a retail environment where I am always at work, I was off late last year (October 2016) as I had an appointment in Germiston to do my hair, as I exit the mall, it’s when I got approach by these so called “sales consultants”, the manner they approach me was

Rude, disrespectful and I was grabbed by the hand and pulled until I decided to hear the consultant out. I was told to join Body lab as they running a free 3 month trail, I responded by telling the gentleman that I work at eastrand mall and stay in Boksburg and I

Am always at work so I will never have time to attend the gym in Germiston, he says it’s okay I can just take the free trail and when my situation changes I could always use the free trail as it is valid for a period of three months, I was in a rush so I agreed to try out the free trail.

Too my surprise a few weeks after the confrontation, I received a sms stating that they will do a debit on my card on the 15th, I don’t know where they got the date the 15th as my salary date as I get paid on the 30th, I immediately called them after receiving the sms,

I was told that I signed a 24 month contract, I told them it’s impossible as I was forced into taking a free trail by a persistent sales consultant that approach me, the man on the phone just said there is nothing they can do, I asked if I can cancel as there is a period of

30 days to cancel any policy or insurance after the date you joined, he said no there is none. I then requested the sales consultants name and surname as I wanted to personally confront him and ask him if he didn’t deceive me into signing up a supposedly free trail, the man on the phone just hung up on me. I was so shocked, confused and ****ed off.

After 3 months of none communication from them, I received a sms last night that I need to pay R1200 immediately as they planning to hand me over. There is no money available on my account on the 15th as I get paid on the last day of the month.

I am a “member” of their gym but I don’t own a gym membership card, nor do I have a contract or some proof that I am a member.
