Deceived by Body Lab Consultants

On the 10th May 2016 I was approached by one of Body Lab Gym consultants, she said to me their company is offering free vouchers that will allow me to gym at their branch for free untill end of May.

If I am happy with the service that they offered me I will then be considered as a member but only if I approve the information I provided on something that looked like a voucher and I told the consultant that I am unemployed even if I am happy I would not be able to pay.

She said it is fine if I do not attend the gym for more than 20 days they will terminate the contract if I am a member.

Weeks later I found out that thing I signed was a contract after I received an sms on the 26th of May 2016, from my bank that body lab has submitted a debit order.

On the 1st of June I received a cellphone banking notification that body laby tried to debit a sum of R200 from my account. I went to Body Lab Gym in Germiston to lay a complaint I got no help from the receptionist.

The above mentioned matter refers.

The complainant signed a contract on the 10/05/2016.

This contract sates on no less than four (4) occasions in bold on the front and the back of the contract “THIS IS A CONTRACT. NOT A VOUCHER. NO FREE MONTH”.

Writer hereof also place on record that the complainant never exercised her rights in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.

The complainant persistently defaulted and as such was handed over for collections / litigation.

I was told that was a voucher valid until the 30th of May 2016. Your consultant did not mention anything about a contract and she did not even tell me about that 4 occasion whatever you telling me about.
