Shoddy Buyer Protection Policy

This is not a rant. I started using bob shop a long time ago when it was still called bid or buy. I have never experienced any issues with them, whether I was buying a brand new product or a second hand one. Their sellers have always delivered the ordered product in the advertised condition and on time. However, this time, I wanted to buy a laptop from them, a brand new one. So I specifically searched for new devices and only picked the ones that were advertised as such. However, after the seller contacted me to show me the test report of the device, it became apparent that the device was in fact used. I want to be clear that the seller was vey helpful, forthcoming and cordial. I have no issues whatsoever with the seller. But Bob shop needs to review it's product posting policy. If something is used, it should be tagged as such. If it's still in mint condition but used, tha should be reflected. But that's not even the real issue here. The bone j have to pick today with Bob Shop is their buyer protection policy, which actually only protects bob shop and no one else. The claim process is lengthy, tedious and unrewarding. They clearly state on heir policy that just about anything under the sun can be a reason why you wouldn't get a refund. They cap refunds for unverified sellers but they don't cap the product prices of unverified sellers. Their policy states that if they fail to recover your funds within 3 days, it is up to you to sort out with the seller. All they've really done is dissuade anyone from trying to get a refund no matter what the issue may be. And this is problematic because the message they're sending to buyers is that they don't do their due diligence when onboarding sellers and they are not interested in customer satisfaction. All they're interested in, is making bank. They need to review their customer service and customer satisfaction policies. They have a good business model but customer service is what makes or breaks a business.
