Deceptive Re-sales on Online Platforms

While comparison shopping for tablets, I came across the attached listing on Bobshop. https://www.bobshop.co.za/tablet/p/***

This exact tablet (non branded by seller) is being sold on Temu for a significantly lower price—ranging from R1471 to just over R1700+

Based on the shipping information provided by the seller, it appears they only dispatch the item 15 days after purchase, which strongly suggests they place an order with Temu only once they've received payment from a buyer on the BOB SHOP platform. https://shorturl.at/SCfUu

If this tablet is from a recognised brand such as Samsung, Apple, Acer, Mecer, etc., then why is that not clearly stated in the listing? The omission of any reputable branding raises red flags.

This appears to be a deceptive resale scheme, unless it can be proven by the seller that the tablet is a legitimate, recognised high end brand.

It seems there is a lack of proper vetting of sellers and the authenticity of their product listings.

On reporting this to BOB SHOP I was not assured that they would report back the authenticity of the product on sale, hiding behind the POPI act, which is not the issue, as I was requesting the brand name be published in the offer, not the sellers details. A direct message to the seller also went unanswered.

I would advise buyers to be aware, question before paying any money to anyone where high end products are concerned.
