Poor quality electric blanket

I bought a Boardmans electric blanket on 19th August 2018 at the Boardmans store in Melrose Arch, JHB. It was marked down due to the store closing. I didn’t use it for the balance of that winter as it wasn’t really necessary (we were in August already and the weather was warmer). I used it for winter 2019 and stored it back in the linen cupboard when winter 2019 was over. Now, I’ve just took it out to use it and it’s not switching on on one side. Surely it can’t be that it only has a lifespan of 1 winter - in essence 4 months. Who can I take this up with given the fact that Boardmans/Edgars in Melrose Arch has since closed down? This is just not acceptable. From R1099,00 I paid less 40% on it. That’s a lot of money to part ways with for something that one can only use to its full effect only once.
