No exhange possible on Boardmans gifts

<p>I would like to take this opportunity to warn the public out there not to buy any gifts at Boardmans if you are still old school and do not include a gift receipt.</p> <p> </p> <p>My daughter got married a month ago and received numerous linen items such as hotel collection sheets, most expensive duvet covers, towels, etc - but unfortunately in the wrong bed size and colour scheme. In addition to this they also got Boardman's gift cards to the value of R2,000. </p> <p>They live 200 km away from the nearest Boardman's store and were able for the first time this past long weekend to spend their gift cards at Klerksdorp Store, and at the same time they wanted to exchange the wrong sized linen for bigger sizes, and/or something else in store to the same value, or to have the value of the items loaded on a gift card to spend later or at other stores with more variety.</p> <p>The cashier who attended to us was very professional and was willing to assist my daughter with her request, but as the linen were running on a 30 % discount the past weekend he had to confirm with the store manager on how this wpuld have to be transacted. Would they qualify for the original item price, or will they have to calculate the value less 30 % (as she could not produce any proof of purchase) - which would be sad, but fair.</p> <p>To our biggest surprize the store manager, Gordon, did not want to help us at all. He did not even allow her to exchange the linen for the correct bed size - same item, just a swop. No help at all! This whilst he has helped me in person to exhcange items without proof of purchase earlier this year without hesitating. This whilst we have spend more than R10,000 at this store in kitchen tea gifts, etc.</p> <p>Needless to say - they have decided to use their gift cards at any other Edcon group, as long as it is not Boardman's. </p> <p> </p> <p>PLEASE DO NOT BUY GIFTS AT BOARDMANS, THE RECEIVER DO NOT HAVE ANY OPTION BUT TO BE STUCKED WITHIT, SHOULD IT BE UNSUITABLE. RATHER GO TO WOOLWORTHS - SAME VARIETY AND THEY EVEN GIVE GIFTCARDS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO EXCHANGE AND RATHER SPEND THE MONEY ON ANYTING ELSE IN STORE.</p>
