Inefficient Board of Health Funders---yet another failed state department

Since July 2020 I have been trying to reinstate my practice number with the Board of Health Funders. I had allowed this to lapse as I was working In a group practice and no longer required an individual practice number. This changed during lockdown when I started working from home. After contacting BHF, I paid the required amount for reinstatement. It was only later when I realized that medical aids were not paying for my services that I discovered that I had not in fact been reinstated. I have spent months phoning them and emailing to absolutely no avail. They claim to have rep**** asking for a number of documents. No evidence of this email but I have since submitted what was required. Still no response! When I phoned this week (again!!!), the message was that the offices were closed for "deep cleaning ". But, the offices are shut with people who are drawing a salary working from home. What am I missing? I have managed to speak to a person subsequently who informs me that there is a large backlog. How can a backlog last for over a year, especially when there is a pandemic and medical services are required. This is yet another state department that does not function in SA.
