NEVER do business with BMW Sandton !!
We bought a 2024 Fiat 500 with 6000km on the clock from them. It was a trade in. We were looking for a specific model and this was the only one we could find, and with such low kms on. We were assured the car was in perfect condition and spotless. The car was sent down to Paarl and arrived 10/9. We did notice some scratch marks on the left rear fender and notified Sandton. It was supposed to be a gift for our daughter. Her first car. Paarlberg BMW cleaned it and we made a huge thing to present the car to her. The car stood in our garage until the 20th, when we had it professionally cleaned. It was then that we found the car must have been in some kind of accident. The left rear fender and 3rd door had been resprayed, the bumper is cracked and touched up with a darker red paint. The wheel arch looks like someone took a pair of plyers to bend it back in place. We immediately sent photos to the dealer but they just kept saying the car was spotless when it left and insinuated that we caused the damage ourselves. Even though you can clearly see the damage on the photo taken on the day it was delivered. The dealer refuse to take the car back and cancel the transaction. The car has been standing in our garage collecting dust since 20/9, we're on the 5th of Nov. I have taken this to the Consumer Goods council and our lawyers. The bank also just steps aside and won't help. But technically they are the owner of the car, we have 6months in which to complain should we feel that we didn't get what we paid for. Both Sandton and Absa refuses to adhere to the CGC's rules. We're stuck with an almost new, badly damaged car we can't use and don't want.
