NEGLIGENT DEATH TRAP

One always think of certain car brands as more reliable than others and many of us place reliance on prodessionals to ensure our safety of vehicles. Not always the case!! I have been loyal to the Mini brand for the last 10 years with 3 cars . Of lately it's questionable!!! Around mid year, I noticed a knocking noise in the front of the car ...I've taken the car, which is under warranty, several times to my local service dealership which I have been going to for the last 10 years- Mini /Bmw Sandton. This is supposedly in "Africa's golden " mile thus one would even think it would be of excellent service. The service department checked my car and found no fault apparently blaming my rim which did have a slight buckle. I drove around thinking it was that..placing reliance on the service department as they knew best.. I did get the rims sorted out. Again the knocking noise was still present. Not satisfied with the noise, I then took the vehicle to Mini Midrand, who eventually after my several discussions found the fault.. A a bolt to the lower control arm that was loose. This was due to negligence from "professionals technician" at Mini/BMW Sandton.

I'm no mechanic and I realy on advice of my brother who is one and on professionals to ensure that my car is safe.In this case the mechanics from Mini/Bmw Sandton.

Some research has found the following:

"The Control Arm is a vital for contact with the road. The control arm(s) move up and down with the spring when a car hits a bump or other road irregularity. This allows the tires to maintain contact with the road and, thus, control. The control arm is part of the suspension system that helps your car remain in full contact with the road at all times, that’s giving you necessary control."

Now with a bolt that was negligently loose, I was driving in a DEATH TRAP. If that bolt fell out ,the control arm wolud have possibly been the end me, I.e loss of control of the vehicle and even a FATAL accidents. I have a sports car and recently did a long trip , little be known that this would have possibly been the end of me due to this negligence of Mini Sandton.

Mini Sandton service has gradually over the years gone down. I don't usually take to social medial but this dangerous issue warrants it.

The last time for example my car mat was torn when I took this to the dealership. It took several days to even get that sorted out with severe attitude from the staff. It also now questions the other jobs done by them. The recent pump change to the engine cooling system. Is it reliable? A proper explanation was not given and the consultant was arrogant and rude and a service manager that's was also questionable.

But this sacry issue makes on re-evaluate..am I really safe in a car that I serviced by "professionals at BMW/ MINI mechanic "?

I do give credit to the Midrand Mini Team who picked up this negligence of MINI/BMW Sandton. Bridget from Mini Midrand was helpful and telling what the issue is.

Regardless BMW/MINI had put my life at a gamble due to their negligence!!

So now I ask myself.is my car safe to drive? At the end of the day,Mini/BMW will give a sloppy apology like the last time. If I was in a fatal car accident due to this, Mini/BMW would have not even blinked an eye and take responsibility.

So always be alert that even "professionals mechanics at BMW/MINI" are questionable

I have pictures to share of this death trap job
