How can one key take so long to travel such a short distance?

So I lost my R 1250 GSA's (keyless) key on Sunday. Today is Friday and I still do not have the bike back, it's still at the dealer "waiting for a key from BMW SA". Now, BMW SA is less than 50km's away from the dealership, how can it take 2 days to get a key to them? I have even offered to do the trip in my own vehicle but the folks at BMW Motorrad does not seem to be in the habit of reacting to customer concerns. I am not pleased and the feeling that I am being ignored is not helping. Next stop Germany.
