Frustrated - Poor client service
Bike BMW S1000R - **** Switch issue.
24 Feb'19 I started my bike at home, stopped at the gas station to fill up. Bike refused to start - **** Switch stuck. 25 Feb @ 8:31 i called my nearest BMW dealer in Centurion - Parts Dept busy will return my call. Never happend. @ 9:35 i visit the branch direclty to discuss the issue. I was told the system offline & some staff never pitched for work. I left all my contact details. @ 11:28 Received - Curtesy call "System still down ETA +-40min back up and running". @ 15:55 I Called - Part dept unvailable - left a message. Manager (Wayne to return my call). @ 17:08 Wayne return my call - Bike out of warranty will call me the next day to discuss further.
26 Feb @ 11:57 I called still no feedback. @ 12:43 (Wayne return my call). No Warranty & can assist with replacement part 10% discounted. I asked for a quote to keep record. @ 12:55 Email Quote received from Clive Kruger. @ 13:15 I rep**** via email requesting Stock availability & the process moving forward. @ 15:55 Still no email reply... I called left message for Wayne to return my call. @ 16:10 I received a return call from Leon, we had a small tiff on the phone (Which i apologized for). Leon will discuss with Wayne to return my call. Still no ETA on the part. @ 16:17 Leon called again the advice stock and they will call me as soon as the part arrived. I still requested a call back from Wayne. @ 17:30 - Still no call from Wayne.
Guys it took 2 days to get back to a client. Im behond the point of frustrated with the lack of client service of BMW. I did raise my concern & saftey issue regarding the **** Switch issue. There is numerious forums on the Internet that proof that this switch is a poor design and as BMW owner im sure its not normal that i would require to change the switch every 12000km...
I previously owned Suzuki GSXR1000 & Honda CBR1000RR ( Not ever had any issues regarding **** switch).
I would like to request an report on this Electronic part where the IP rating was tested.
The matter of the fact is that BMW deems me a pebble in an Ocean, which might be, but i will make sure Dr Markus Schramm get a copy of this email.
Kind Regards, Riaan de Beer
