BMW system 7 helmet dispair

I would just like to make people aware of BMW’s lack of interest in their latest and “first” BMW designed and manufactured helmet, the System 7 Helmet. The previous generation, System 6, was produced by Schubert and BMW can obviously learn something from them as they did not quite get it right with the System 7. Poor quality, flimsy fittings and my chin lift button cable snapped in 2. This after just over 2.5 yrs of use.

As I am a proud BMW motorcycle enthusiast with 2 previous System 6 helmets both still in good order ( going on 10yrs.... ) as well as BMW riding gear ( replaced Ralley 3 jacket after 10 yrs! ) I wrote a detailed letter to both BMW SA and Germany explaining the situation with my 2.5yr old System 7 helmet and the response was short and stern from BMW..... SORRY, OUT OF WARRANTY! That was it.

Expensive helmet with fitted communication system, worth a lot of money, you know how much BMW, useless after only two and a half years. Not a cheap, no-name helmet bought at a random motorbike shop or second hand store. No, a brand new, BMW designed and produced expensive helmet bought from BMW.

And the answer..... SORRY, OUT OF WARRANTY!

Not good enough BMW!

Watch out for this new helmet and I hope there are not more issues like this out there. I am sure another “BIG brand” would have engaged a little more.
