BAD Attitude from BMS SA re GS 1200 Fuel Pump

BMW 1200 GS recalled to fit new Fuel Pump mid 2015 . Bike has been standing and did 14 km since fuel pump was fitted .Wouldn't start so BMW service centre advised fuel pump seized .Logged case with BMW SA and have just been informed by Duran Soloman that they will not entertain a claim for new fuel pump because petrol crystallised in pump because of it standing to long.Is this not something they should advise you about.Bike was standing before and never had any problems until BMW fitted new fuel pump on recall.
