Unprofessional and horrific customer service

I had an accident on the 19th August, submitted a claim under my insurance a few days after, and took my car in for assessment on the 6th September. I has been nearly a month now, and nothing has happened on my claim. Each time I follow up, BMW unhelpfully tells me that they are "waiting for a response" from Guardrisk, the underwriter, as Guardrisk doesn't seem to accept my driver's licence. And each time I am told that I will be given feedback by the end of the day, but it's the same response every day, every time. "I am waiting for a response". Apparently I can't even contact Guardisk myself (although I shouldn't even be in the position where I should have to...), because they are "extremely busy" and moreover don't actually have a contact number! It is shocking how busy one could be to take 4 WEEKS (and counting) to make a decision on an insurance claim.

It is worth noting that I had previously submitted a claim in February 2013 with the same driver's licence, and there didn't seem to be any problems. I therefore continued to pay insurance under my policy with the understanding that any claims under the insurance would be valid with this licence. It is interesting how quick BMW is to accept payment on my insurance policy and then tell me that they now deem my licence invalid and could potentially refuse to accept my claim.

I tried to speak to the manager yesterday to escalate the matter - I was told I will have an answer before the end of the day. Again, in line with the unprofessional, lazy and "couldn't be bothered" attitude I've had so far on the claim, I never heard back.
