Bad, Poor and Appalling Service: BMW East Rand

I would like to share my bad and appalling experience that I had from BMW East Rand, 126 North Rand Road Bardene Boksburg the morning of the 30 July 2022. I was supposed to collect a pre-owned BMW 318i that was selling for R720 000.00. But I had to cancel the purchase deal and travel back to lowveld in Mpulanaga using a taxi due the worse experience that one could ever imagine from a Brand or dealer such as BMW.

I travelled with my wife a day before using a public transport, subsequent to the arrangement that I will collect a car on Saturday morning. On my arrival, I signed outstanding documents before the car unveiling cloth was removed from the car. Once the cloth was removed, I noticed that a car was dusty outside and some part of it inside. When a gentlemen who was demonstrating the car features to us opened a sunroof, dust was all over the hinges of the sunroof. That’s when I learned that a car was not taken for full valet and was not prepared to be on the floor or for collection. We checked the car all around, then realised that a front diffuser is damaged and that’s when I decided not to take the car.

The sales man who was assisting me with the deal, who is apparently the sales man of the year, told me a car will be ready for collection on Wednesday but later on Saturday he seemed to have no clue that a car was not taken for valet and was not prepared for collection. They then tried to wipe the car with cloth to remove the dust in my presence and I was told to take a car for valet and will be refunded. It was my first to experience such and worse with such a well-established brand like BMW. I will never recommend BMW East Rand for anyone and I hope other BMW branches are not the same as East Rand. What was supposed to be my best first time BMW experience turned into a nightmare.
