bike service multi return

After taking my G 650GS motorbike for a schedules 60000 km service to the centurion bmw outlet off Louis botha, I thought I had bought myself peace of mind. That was far from the truth. I must state that when I received back my bike on this fateful day, and it was explained to me what the service was about . It was confirmed that this was a major service when the mechanic gave me a ticked paper with a list of work done on the bike he also took time to explain to me what had been checked and repairs made. That was the end of my peace of mind.

After driving the bike for less that two weeks, I started losing power despite being on motion on the excelarator. This I must say was dangerous because it took me by surprise. Mind you, part of my Dailly commute in via the N1. Therefore it is easy to appreciate the danger to my self other road user.

I immediately took it back to the dealership explaining what was becoming a dailly ocarence and an infringement on my security.

I was informed that this is a routing problem on the G 650GS bike. The problem emanates from some interference with the electronics due to cables that my be exposed to engine heat. In a casual manner the person who explained the problem casually cut off some cable ties that held two or three cable and pleasantly informed me that your problem was resolved.

Hardly a few days later the problem reapeared at much shorter frequencies. I took the motorbike back to the dealer. This time it was kept for a while to my distaste because I use the bike to commute to work. I was introduced to a mechanic and informed that he is the best and he will be the one attending to my bike. As you my understand, it save me money and time to commute on a bike. For the two weeks that the bike was kept, I was losing money. But I had comfort because I assumed that the dealership is doing its best to resolve the problem.

I was subsequently informed to came fetch my bike. Lord be hold, I was expected to pay money for the diagnostic which proved to find nothing wrong withe the bike as per the expert mechanic in the dealership. I informed the dealership that I intended to ride my bike to Lempopo and would not like anything nasty to happen. I was reassured that everything was fine with my bike. I had earlier been told the the steering wheel baring had to be change because it had been warned off. I parted with R 2500 for both the diagnostics and steering baring repairs that day. Now I started to be sceptical about the service I was receiving from BMW. Before leaving I requested confirmation of the status of my brake pads. I was informed that they were good to go for at least 5000 km.

Confidently I drove to Lempopo ridding the bike max 140km/h. Halfway my journey, I had to drive defensively and I accelerated to about 150km/h, to my very surprise this time the bike lost power and cut off the engine. All this imp**** that a was in a sudden brake at high speed Due To Engine Disengagement While The Bike Is On gear. What saved my life was quick thinking because I engaged the clutch to allow the bike to disengage the gear system. I was able to restart the bike and continue on my journey with my heart in my throat. What an uncomfortable journey it was. The problem persisted.

In all my second and third encounter with the Dealership, I was informed by several employees that I should consider buying a new bike. I had developed a standard response which is that you must have little confidence in the BMW product given that the bike has only done 60000km. Secondly I informed them I was also losing confidence in their products if I was to experience such problems in a relatively new bike. I am driving a VW Golf 4 which has done ********** Km and I am yet to experience such problems. In any case I would have no cash to purchase a new bike. I just wanted my bike to do what it is supposed to do, ride well. .

This time they took the bike for, as per their request, 4 day. I was to be called. I had to call on the fifth day to enquire about the bike. I was referred to a new mechanic who stated that it was a power unit problem that would cost me R 3000. I asked why do I have to bring the bike three to four times before you make a proper diagnosis, if in deed it's a correct one. I was informed that if the diagnostic machine does not pick up a fault, then nothing can be done. So I asked how much will this cost me. This time the price increased to R 3200. I was informed that this is not the final price, additional costs related to diagnosis will be added. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT MY REAR BIKE NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. I then protested. I was told that a certain Jason will call me. I am still waiting for the call.

My conclusion are:

BMW DOES NOT HAVE CONFIDENCE IN IT'S MOTOBIKE RELANGE G 650GS AT WORST THEIR WHOLE BIKE RANGE

THE SERVICE READERED AT BMW IS DESPITE THAT IT'S MAJOR, IS NOT COMPREHANSIVE BECAUSE THE BIKE WERE NOT NOTICE NOT THE STEERING WHEEL

THEIR DIAGNOSTIC KIT IS NOT RELIABLE.

THEIR MECHANICS ARE NOT WELL TRAINED NOT WELL EQUIPPED TO PROVIDE REQUIRED SAFE AND SOUND PRODUCTS

Their price is in consisted and depends.

I HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE I THE BMW MOTOROLA

I DO NOT HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE BMW SERVICE OUTPUT

I AM CONSIDERING NEVER TO BUY A BMW PRO DUCT

Bmw does not care about the inconvenience of keeping one's bike. No customer care.

I WILL TELL EVERY BODY WHO WISH TO LISTEN ABOUT MY BMW EXPERIENCE THOUGH MEDIA BOTH PRESS AND PRO AND ELECTRONIC
